Data Consultant - Business Solutions Team

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-focused Data Consultant to join our Business Solutions Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful insight, working with modern Microsoft cloud, data and AI technologies, and helping clients improve the way they manage, integrate and use their data to drive better business outcomes. The role combines technical expertise, problem-solving and client engagement to deliver intelligent solutions that improve efficiency, create insight and enable innovation.

 

In this role, you will design and deliver data pipelines, reporting solutions and analytics using tools such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. You will also design and build modern data platforms, integrations and information solutions using Microsoft's cloud and AI technologies, creating scalable and future-ready solutions for our clients.

 

Working closely with clients and colleagues, you will combine strong engineering expertise with business understanding to solve complex challenges and deliver measurable outcomes. You will help organisations make better decisions through data, automation and intelligent technologies, whilst identifying opportunities to add real value through the effective use of data and emerging technologies.

 

The role will involve creating trusted data foundations, semantic models and knowledge architectures that support analytics, automation and AI-powered solutions. You will work directly with clients to understand requirements, shape technology decisions and deliver scalable, future-ready platforms and intelligent systems. This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of data, AI and software engineering, helping clients harness innovation to solve real-world business problems.

 

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical, analytical and communication skills, practical experience in data engineering or data analysis and a positive, continuous improvement mindset. They will have strong organisational and project management capabilities, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines, along with a strong understanding of statistical analysis, data storytelling, data governance, security and compliance best practice.

Qualifications & Skills include:

  • SQL Server and T-SQL development, including data modelling and querying large datasets
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Power BI, including dashboard design, DAX and semantic modelling
  • Excel
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration and reporting solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of data governance, security and compliance best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable additional experience in one or more of:

  • DataSync Studio
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Python and associated data libraries
  • Microsoft Copilot technologies and AI agents
  • Cloud-based data platform design
  • Data automation and intelligent business solutions
  • Experience designing semantic models and knowledge architectures
  • Microsoft Certifications such as:
    • DP-203 Azure Data Engineer Associate
    • DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals
  • Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, and/or proven experience in a similar role as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst or equivalent
